Some of you may have guessed that my decision to step away from my blog for a few days was a little bit more then just a break from technology.

I was running on empty from working way too many work hours in way too short of a time frame.  When I accepted that big project, Mr. MPB and I knew it was going to be tough for the whole family.  Mr. MPB picked up the slack and turned into some sort of super-hero parent while also working full time.  And, I survived and made the big project deadline.  And then, I realized I have an ulcer and also spent a the next week playing catch-up on other projects that I’d been neglecting.  And so, by the time the end of May rolled around I was desperate for a break.

And by pure random chance, when we booked our dream vacation a few months ago, we booked it for the end of May.  The timing couldn’t have been better (well except for travelling with an ulcer, that was far from ideal).

I needed a break.  Like, really NEEDED.  I needed time with my family without distractions, just the three of us.  In fact, I think we all needed some quality time together.

As it turns out, spending 8 days in a camper van as a family of 3, in a foreign country is just what we all needed (except for those few less then desirable moments that are bound to happen when you put 2 adults and 1 toddler in a small camper van with 1 bed for 8 days).

So, now that I’m back in Canada (albeit very jetlagged with a toddler who has no idea what time zone we are in), I plan to be back into the world of working and writing as soon as I manage a trip to the grocery store.

As soon as I have sorted through countless amazing photos, I’ll share more about the MPB family dream vacation.

Last night I decided I need a break.  So, today I’m here to say that I’m intending to take about a week or two off from blogging.  In fact, after the crazy last 4-6 weeks, I’ve decided to take a break from most things (the bonus of being self-employed consultant is that when times are slow I don’t have to show up to work just to sit at my desk).

I don’t have a set return date, but I’m thinking maybe in 2 weeks?  Sometime in early June.

Please do not worry, even in spite of my ulcer and a complete lack of real nutritious food, I really am doing okay.

I just need a bit of down time, away from my computer and maybe even away from my phone.  Basically, I’m just stepping away from technology to recharge.

I plan to be back sometime really soon, hopefully with fun stories of happy moments with my favourite MPB’s.

So until then, I wish everyone well.  And, I hope your days are filled with love, happiness and beautiful flowers too.
