My Evening Alone Part 2
I realize I never did explain what I ended up doing with my one evening alone at home (well, alone with a sleeping toddler).
After a bit of a struggle I came up with 2 ideas.
- The first idea was sorting through photos to work on our Iceland photo album. You know, a trip we took almost exactly 1 year ago that I still haven’t looked at a single photo that we took. I also want to do Little MPB’s 1st year photo album. I love photography, so we have lots of photos, and not only do I need to turn them into albums, I also want to. But, it takes an insane amount of time, so I haven’t started either of these projects yet.
- The second idea was to write. Not about work. Not about anything in particular. But just let the words flow out of me, as if to let my fingers aimlessly dance on my keyboard.
And, so I chose to write while I finished watching Eat Pray Love (as an aside, Eat Pray Love came out in 2010, and apparently over 8 years I forgot that the movie is actually rather slow). I’ll be honest I wrote because it was less of a time commitment then the photos project. But, I also knew if I started into sorting through and editing photos, I’d probably stay up all night working on it. And, I know I couldn’t compromise my sleep.
Well, as it turns out, I couldn’t sleep anyways and I was awake until almost midnight.
And then because I did something to piss of the sleeping gods of the world, Little MPB wore up at 3:44 am. And when I say woke up, I mean he never went back to sleep no matter what I did. I tried putting in him crib, to which he screamed blood curdling screams which my heart just couldn’t take. So, we snuggled in Mommy Daddy Bed, but really I was just climbed on, tickled and even kicked at times until I gave up at 6:00 am. For what it’s worth, never again will I taunt the sleeping gods and comment how Little MPB is usually a good sleeper.
But at least now I know what I want to do next time I have a few hours of free time. And, I consider that a win.

Whenever we bring A into bed she never sleeps, only plays, climbs, smacks, sings….torture to not sleep!

I have no idea how people can co-sleep! M is a wiggler, anytime we’ve had him in our bed someone usually gets kicked in the face.

Sheesh. I hate when the kidlets pull that stunt. Holly dabbles in it from time to time too. Tiring but they eventually grow out of it! Ha!
