An Evening in the City

My Husband and I went out the other night for no reason other than it seemed like a good idea. First we went for sushi, my absolute favourite food, at a new restaurant near our house. It turned out to be excellent, and might just be our new sushi place. Then, we hopped in the car and went for a drive around the city to take photos. We did not do a good job figuring out where we were going, so at times it felt more like a Sunday drive without purpose on a Tuesday night, but that didn’t really matter to us. This might seem like an odd night out, but since I’m doing the #100happydays, my husband thought it would be fun. And, I had to agree. Of course, as an added bonus, because we were mostly driving around with short walks, it was also a good activity for someone with a broken ankle.

Simply put, an evening out without thinking of babies, adoption, miscarriages, etc., is classified as a great night out for us!

And, as an added bonus, it really was fun. We just chatted and spent some time in the fresh air.

Based on the success of our night out, I’ve decided that our photography date night should be added to the list of positive coping mechanisms.

Anyways, rather than doing a big post today, I am going to share a few of the photos, that don’t really give away which city I live in – keeping this blog anonymous is super annoying at times! But be forewarned, I have saved my favourite photo for my #100happyday project – so, you will have to wait until next week to see my personal favourite.

Our first stop was at an old historic bridge that crosses one of the main rivers in the city:

The second stop was at a park overlooking the City and the water reservoir.  And, I even included a picture of me, but only because I was having fun playing with the light and shadows.

  1. Great images! I’m glad you were able to enjoy each other and focus on things non-baby related for an evening.

    Blessings for a beautiful weekend,

  2. I LOVE them. You have a great eye and style. Aaaaand, I totally agree with getting out and doing something to take your mind off the usual baby stuff. Partly why I started using my camera and began This Is Queensland, even though the baby stuff never goes away it does give you a little focus on something else. My view is that creativity is healing regardless of your personality type. More more more please!
