Absolutely nothing.

It’s kinda weird. Yet, at the same time maybe not so weird because I’m usually either completely engulfed in a book or not reading anything at all.

Usually I have a book on the go. But since I finished the The Lost Girls: Three Friends. Four Continents. One Unconventional Detour Around the World by Jennifer Baggett, Holly C. Corbett, Amanda Pressner, nearly a month ago, I have not starting reading anything new. I have bought new books, I’ve flipped through page, read the first few pages of multiple books, but I just haven’t really dug into anything new.

Why? I have no idea.

So, what should I read next? I have many books sitting on my bookshelf that I could read, and I’m currently eying these three books:

20140505 - What am I Reading Right Now

  1. The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan – a collection of essays and short stories by Marina Keegan who was killed at the young age of 22 in a tragic car accident.
  2. Escape by Carolyn Jessop – the story of a women who escaped and left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with her 8 children.
  3. The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brené Brown – a leading researcher and storyteller discusses living wholeheartedly while diving into shame, authenticity and belonging

Does anyone have any other good authors or books to suggest?

Happy Birthday

Today is May 4. Today is the 1st birthday of my former best friend’s son. I wrote all about her in a past post – You Chose You. I Chose Me. So I’m not going to re-hash how our friendship ended.

But, what I to take a quick moment to say happy birthday little guy! I always thought I’d be part of your life and be there to celebrate these milestones with you and your parents. I’ve learned that life doesn’t always work out that way one might expect, but I hope you’ve had a great first year, a great birthday day and a great year to come!
