#100HappyDays Continued – Days 122 – 128
Another week of photos for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed each moment.
Day 122 – November 5, 2014: Yummy homemade, gluten filled cinnamon banana bread.
Day 123 – November 6, 2014: Today I was really happy and excited about our future family – I have not felt this way in a long time. We met with our local adoption agency and officially started the adoption process!! So, when I went grocery shopping in the afternoon at my favourite store, Costco, my excitement lead me to buy myself a Christmas flower thing! As a rule, we do not decorate for Christmas before Mr. MPB’s birthday, but I guess I officially broke that rule for the first time ever.
Day 124 – November 7, 2014: We had family staying with us for a few days. We don’t see them very often as they live about 3,525km (2190 miles) away. In fact, this was the first time we met there little man, who is now 10 months old. In addition to being one of the happiest babies I have ever met, he also had the cutest little feet.
Day 125 – November 8, 2014: Mr. MPB and I attended the wedding today. The simple little details at weddings always make me smile.
Day 126 – November 9, 2014: After a treacherous 5 hour drive back home due to a horrible snow storm (the drive normally takes 3 hours), I came home to a surprise from the relatives staying at our house – a beautiful thank you card and wonderful surprises hidden throughout our kitchen. So far I have found a cute little pepper plant, extra virgin olive oil, organic balsamic vinegar, root vegetable chips, dark chocolate covered pomegranate and yummy cheeses. Although completely unnecessary, it was the most thoughtful and personal gift we have been given in a long time (clearly they figured out we love great food).
Day 127 – November 10, 2014: Winter storm = lots of snow and bitterly cold weather! Today outside it reached a high of – 16 Celsius (3 Fahrenheit) with windchill which made it feel like -25 Celsius (-13 Fahrenheit). It’s freaking cold out, and the not happy voice in my head is reminding me that this is just the start of winter. and there are many more months before spring returns. But, I did find my happy moment of the day when I finished shoveling the sidewalk and turned around to see that snow had blown right back over the sidewalk I just cleared – I couldn’t help but laugh and roll my eyes as I walked back into my warm temperature controlled house.
Day 128 – November 11, 2014: Today’s happy moment was watching my husband and a friend butcher a deer that they got on Monday. I do not love the idea of killing Bambi and could never do it myself, but I absolutely support the concept of hunting so long as the entire animal is used. Here’s to another year of enjoying local venison.
Wishing everyone splendid happy moments!

1. I love the term “gluten filled bread” lol. Looks amazing!
2. I hate shovelling snow. You’d think that growing up in Northern Ontario would make me used to it, but I can’t stand it. And I especially hate driving in the winter!
3. I’m so excited about the two of you starting the adoption process! I can’t wait to read more 😀
4. I. LOVE. VENISON! You’re a girl after my own heart 😉

My car has not moved in 3 or 4 days, because I too hate driving in the winter! Although, honestly I also just hate winter and tend to hibernate as much as possible. 🙂
Venison is yummy! My husband just started hunting a few years ago, so its still a novelty to us.

I love the thoughtful gifts your house guests left – amazing. And I resent you for posting that cinnamon bread photo. 😉

I figure if we are actively trying not to get pregnant, then I can eat as much gluten as I want. Although, interestingly neither Mr. MPB or myself are eating as much gluten as we used to. It’s more of a treat now. 🙂

Well, I never missed gluten until about 2 weeks ago. Now I am bitter every time the LP or the MT devour cinnamon buns, butter rolls and the like. And they don’t do that often. My office has birthday cake day once a month and this month they ordered “gluten free chocolate decadence” cake. I don’t even like cake but I ate a whole piece because (a) I could and (b) if I eat cake, it must be chocolate. I felt really sick afterward (I’m sure from all the sugar) but I didn’t care!

Based on my gluten free adventures, I can only assume that it was not nearly as good as a real chocolate cake. But at least you were able to indulge and enjoy…until you felt sick afterwards. 🙂

I soooo want that cinnamon bread. And I am totally in love with smitten kitchen. If you have never tried her overnight waffles, you have never had a real waffle. Omg.

I love that you broke the rules and bought yourself that holiday flower arrangement. Here’s to breaking all the rules! 🙂 Brr. It sounds so cold there. I’m so sorry it is officially winter. I’ll try to send you some California sunshine for a bit of a reprieve! And as for the deer, my dad hunts too and I feel the exact same way about it as you do. I could never do the hunting myself, but I support the concept too as long as the entire animal is used too. And I do love me some deer jerky 🙂

some California weather would be much appreciated (not just the sunshine, I want the warmth too). It is freaking cold here right now. Somehow even with a September 8 dump of snow, I wasn’t ready for the deep freeze to actually start. 🙂

Aw! I wish I could bottle the warmth here and send it your way! I am definitely thinking warm thoughts for you.
