Eavesdropping

I have a new favourite activity – eavesdropping.  If I’m in different room of the house from Mr. MPB and Baby MPB, I find myself stopping whatever I’m doing to just listen to Mr. MPB playing with Baby MPB.

I hear silly voices, cute comments and adorable baby sounds.

I hear laughter.

I hear pure love.

And as I listen, I cannot help but think about how right this is.  All of it.

There is nothing quite like hearing the love Mr. MPB has for his little boy.  And at the same time, there is something so amazing about seeing the joy and love in Baby MPB’s eyes for his daddy.  It’s so evident that these two are meant to be together.

I always new Mr. MPB was meant to be a dad.  And it brings such love to my heart to know that this dreams have come true.  I am truly honoured to get to watch (and listen) to him be the father that he is meant to be.

  1. Isn’t it the best?! I have a video when G was about 6 months old and I was working in my office. I heard hubby making all sorts of noises and then these amazing baby belly-laughs. It brought me so much joy. I was even able to record some of it without their knowledge. ❤

  2. This is something new for me too. I genuinely am so happy every time I hear Tony and Nora and I can tell he is too. One of the best feelings in the world.

    • I think this is one of those parenting joys that i had no idea existed until i became a parent. It sure is amazing and i imagine it will only get better (until he can tall back and argue). ☺

  4. This is so sweet! I can’t wait to hear my own partner being sweet and playful with our future baby. I can see how watching your partner become a parent can make you love them even more.

  5. I don’t have children yet – but I am very close to my three nephews who range in age from 2-7. I do this when the boys are at our house, and it just melts my heart listening to my husband make them laugh and giggle. Shows me how wonderful of a father he is going to be someday and I can’t wait to be eavesdropping on him with our own children. Makes you love these wonderful men even more, eh? I’m so happy you are getting this experience!

  6. Yay! There are moments when how awesome this parenting thing is hits you in the face, right?

My favorite: when I overheard Mr. O singing “All About that Bass” to Chick. Hysterical!

  7. Awwwwww what a cute post! I know what you mean. Eric actually bonded with Monkey before I did and I remember watching it happen. I was jealous yes but also happy for them as it was so beautiful to see. So happy for your happiness X

  9. A mom blogger I used to follow (she shut down her Tumblr 😢) referred to that kind of activity as “mother perving”! Which is about spot on! B😄
