A Blogging Error

Tonight a post went live that I wasn’t ready to share.

It was a draft, and I wanted to work on it more. It’s was a very personal subject for me, and also potentially a very contravention topic.  And therefore a topic that deserves my full attention.

Some how I inadvertently saved it as scheduled not draft.

Ops.

For now, I am going to remove it from the public domain.  I will re-post it when my thoughts are more complete and I’m ready to share.

Thank you to those who’ve commented already, as always I very much appreciate your support and understanding.

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one who looses to technology. I missed your post yesterday as I didn’t even check into wordpress until after 11pm and just noticed my mistake and focused on that.
And thanks for your support with the post. I’m not upset with what I said, more just upset about what I didn’t say yet. 🙂

  1. Ughhhh I’ve done this before and had my heart jump through my chest! We are so vulnerable to misinterpretations from the world’s audience, these type of posts make me nervous. I started to draft some of my posts in Word documents after I learned that lesson!

    • Yes, my heart totally jumped through my chest last night when we got home late from an evening out. I was mortified. Not because of what I said, but because it was so incomplete.
Anyways, like you I normally wrote in Word, but lately I’ve been lazy and just writing in WordPress. Not anymore though!! Lesson learned!!

  2. I think everyone posts something too soon sometimes. I didn’t think your post was offensive, much less contravention. It’s never a good idea to apologize about how you feel and what you think you can or can’t handle.

    • Thank you DeCaf! I also don’t think it was offensive, but rather then incomplete. This post was about the mistake of sharing before I was ready too.
Also, I really agree with you that one should never apologize for their feelings. our feelings, good and bad, are what they are. And understanding and supporting each other through it all is one of the most amazing things about the blogging community. We know each other so personally that it could be easy for others to judge and be hurtful and instead 98% of the time we all just support each other as true friends. It’s truly an amazing thing.

  4. *hugs* I as planning to comment, just to say I know of someone who has done the same and feels exactly the same as you. I didn’t read more then the few lines that was sent by email.

    Hope you are good 🙂

  5. Even though it wasn’t complete, I believe it still resonated with a lot of us, a definite valid concern! I still appreciated reading it, especially since I don’t think I’m brave enough to post something regarding adoption yet. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one with these thoughts. Thanks for accidentally sharing 🙂

    • Thank you so much for this! I tend not to shy away from the difficult subjects and I will repost it once I can finish it with the attention it deserves. It’s subjects like that one that are so touchy that I just want to get my thoughts right. ☺

  6. I just left a really long (and very supportive) comment re: FAS and my experiences with it as a social worker. I had left your post up and just got around to reading it and commenting. Oops – now I get why my comment didn’t go through! 🙂 I’d love to share my thoughts with you another time.

    • Thank you my friend. I will repost it once my thoughts on the subject are more complete or at least written in a more complete manner. I absolutely love learning from your thoughts and experiences and really look forward to whatever you share. 🙂

  7. I wondered why you posted yesterday, when you usually don’t post Saturdays. (Is that kinda stalker-ish that I know that???) I don’t even know how to schedule things to post lol, I guess I never looked that much into it! I’ll be curious to see the updated version of it 🙂

  8. As daughter to a former foster mom and someone who worked with FAS and FAE kids and adults myself I chose not to read that post until I was ready to. It’s a subject I’ve spoken and attended presentations about but more importantly it dredges up many feelings. I didn’t read more than the title and first line either. Sorry you exposed yourself prematurely. WordPress and its many idiosyncrasies!

    • I understand that FAS and FAE is a very emotional topic for many people, myself included. Which is why I pulled the post when I realized it went up before I was ready to, it’s just one of those subjects that I think deserves my undivided attention.
WordPress is not always the most user-friendly! Oh well, lesson learned. I’ll will go back to writing my drafts in word, not as WordPress drafts.

    • I appreciate that not everyone read it before I took it down! 🙂
I will re-post it once I finish writing it. It’s just one of those subjects that I think deserves my full and undivided attention before I share my thoughts.

  9. I’m guessing it was the post on FAS? I had so many emotions on it I hadn’t commented yet. I haven’t written about the topic but my daughter was the product of a very unhealthy pregnancy so a lot of what you wrote already struck a chord. Looking forward to reading the finished product.

  10. I didn’t see the post, but I too have accidentally posted posts when they aren’t ready. Or worse, in my opinion, I posted something that should have gone to my son’s private daily journal (that I keep about/for him) where I use his name. I also don’t always write complete sentences…so it looks incomplete.

  11. Been there! I didn’t see it but I can empathize. I was mortified that a draft was seen publicly and mine was something personal too. We can’t be perfect all the time (pardon the pun!) x
