An Award with 7 Random Facts About Me

I’ve fallen behind on the blog awards, so today I thought I’d catch up on a few. So I’m combining nomination from two awesome bloggers into one post.

My Brain’s Escape and My Pink Champagne Life both nominated me the Versatile Blogger Award. I adore both of these blogs. My Brain’s Escape might be one of the most supportive individuals I have ever met – she encourages me and loves me through everything. While we have never met in person, I feel like we’d be best friends if we lived in the same city. My Pin Champagne Life is a more recent blog to me that I fall in love just a little bit more with her every time she posts. She is an amazing women who is doing amazing things!

The rules of the award are pretty simple:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award – Done
  2. Include a link to their blog – Done
  3. Nominate 15 blogs that you’ve recently discovered, or follow regularly
  4. Share 7 facts about yourself

 Seven Facts:

  1. Recently The Common Ostrich shared this quote with me, and I think it is absolutely beautiful:

“I believe that in the same way we need species diversity to ensure that the planet can go on, so we need this diversity of affection and diversity of family in order to strengthen the ecosphere of kindness.” – Andrew Solomon

  1. I wear glasses. Without them I’d probably walk into walls and other random things.
  2. My favourite cheese is Brie (and now I think I need to go get some brie to bake and enjoy this evening).
  3. My first job ever in my life was at a shoe store. This is when my shoe addiction and dislike of other people’s feet both started. Based on this quick scan of my happy photos, I really do like shoes!

  4. I have a weird love for clocks. Not watches though just clocks that hang on the wall. The clocks in our house are all unique and I love them.
  5. One of my all-time favourite TED talks is:

7. I do not drink coffee, and in fact have never had a full cup of coffee in my life. Instead I have a slight addiction to non-fat, extra hot, chai tea lattes.

  1. Thank you so much for the award nomination!

Mmmmm… baked Brie… I wish I could have some! I am going to have to watch that Ted talk now – thanks for giving me another distraction when I didn’t want to clean the house in the first place!

  2. Aww you’re so sweet!! I feel like we’d be the best of friends, too…we just live too far apart! I love those silver shoes you have! (I actually hate shoes, and spend as much time as possible barefoot. But those are really cute!)

  3. Thank you for the nomination! I am SO behind on my award posts. I may have to combine them once my lazy butt gets around to it!

I LOVE shoes, too! It seems Evie also has my (our) passion for shoes.

    • I love your blog, so you are very much worthy in my mind. And I know what you mean about being behind on blog awards – I’m not even sure how many I have saved in a word document that I’m supposed to do. Ops!
You and Evie with shoe addictions = expensive!! hahaha!! 🙂

  4. My favourite cheese of all time is Tasmanian Heritage Camembert… seriously these people make amazing cheeses. If you ever have a chance to try their Brie, definitely do it 🙂
I love your red shoes, also the purple sandals are so darling 🙂

    • I am going to keep a keen eye out for Tasmanian Heritage Camembert – something tells me it will be hard to find in my neck of the woods, but I will look. If I ever find it I’ll let you know. 🙂
My red shoes are my favourite! They were actually my wedding shoes, so I don’t wear them frequently but I always smile when I do. 🙂

      • You totally should, I was just inspired to Google them and apparently they are World renowned (who knew) and they do export so it might be easier than you think 🙂 here’s the link http://www.tasmanianheritage.com.au/
Oh cool, my wedding shoes were a deep purple and I LOVE THEM! They will have to fall to pieces before I throw them away hahaha.

  5. I love your shoe collection! And for some reason I would have thought you were a coffee drinker, maybe because of all the gourmet food and wine you discuss, and I’m surprised! Chai tea lattes are of course amazing though.

    • Thanks!! I love shoes – it’s a bit of an extreme love and in recent years I’ve only been buying shoes when I need them, rather then when I see another cute pair. It’s helping keep my addiction under control. 🙂
Because of my migraines I’ve always stayed away from the caffeine in coffee, otherwise I’m sure I’d be addicted. (I can drink some Chai teas, but not all of them).

  6. Thank you! And thank you for introducing me to a bunch of new blogs to savour!
I have terrible eyesight too. Imagine if you hold up your hand in front of your face… that’s how far I can see! I usually wear contact lenses though as I don’t like that feeling of having glasses on my face. It’s funny being so blind!

    • The new blogs is why I love these little awards! Well, the new blogs and the complete randomness of them that draws us outside of our normal writing.
Terrible eyesight is the worst! I so wish I could wear contacts consistently – it’s just too dry here for my eyes to cope.

      • Haha. I would be almost blind if I didn’t wear contacts. Tbh I should wear glasses but as I’ve worn them since I was a kid, I forced my folks to let me try contacts (before they were disposable/hi tech). Without going into too much detail, I have an ethnic nose which is *not* suitable for glasses. Seriously! They kept slipping off! I had hard gas permeable lenses in the beginning and they were nuts! At least they don’t steam up when you go in and out… Also the weather in the UK is not the best for glasses!

  7. Thank you very much for the award nomination! I loved seeing the shoe shots. I am always trying to picture what you look like (I’m weird, I know). So when I saw those shoes I was like, hmmmm, what kind of woman would wear those shoes? The glasses was also another good clue. I was definitely not picturing you in glasses!

    • I love your blog (and you too), so nominating you only made sense! 🙂
I know what you mean about wondering what anonymous bloggers look like! I’ve painted a picture of myself with everything I share, but I guess it’s sort of like a puzzle since I give up weird little tips about myself at random times. 🙂

  11. I have a pair of sandals from that brand. Also bought them for a wedding because they were comfy. My grandma owned a shoe store but had gotten out of the business by the time I was born. My mom worked there when she was growing up though.

    • As a shoe lover, I’ve learned in my old age that at some point I need to care about comfort. And now, if they are not comfortable I wont even consider buying them. 🙂
