#100happydays – Day 8 Through 14

Here is my second week of #100happydays.

Enjoy.

Day 8 – July 14, 2014: We just discovered that our tomatoes plants have started producing tomatoes!! This is super early in our part of the world, so this made both my husband and I smile. An absolute happy photo moment.

Day 9 – July 15, 2014: I was out watering my herb garden and vegetable gardens again today (it’s really hot out lately, so I’m trying to balance my attempt to keep everything watered without drowning them). In addition to loving everything we are growing, I thought it would be fun to get a photo of the water. Why, water? Because I’m freaking thankful I live somewhere that I can turn on the tap and have fresh water that is safe to drink. And, I think my bright blue watering can is super cute so it always makes me happy.

Day 10 – July 16, 2014: When we got home today, there was a lovely package on my front door – our new weed whacker ordered from my favourite store – Costco. After 2 years of refusing to use our old frustratingly crappy weed whacker, and over a month since my husband was willing to use it, I am oddly excited about being able to clean up the yard. So, I happily grabbed the package, went straight out the backyard and got down to building it. I only needed help from my husband at one point because I was not interested in connecting the stop cords in the engine (what is a stop cord anyways?). Assembling the thing was enough of an accomplishment to make me happy, I am not about to become a small engine mechanic too.

Day 11 – July 17, 2014: Today’s photo is all about our super secrete awesome project. Ever since I was a kid when my mom made me taking sewing lessons with my sister, I have hated sewing. Hated it so much in fact that my husband has been forced to learn how to fix his own cloths. But, after 2 solid days at my sewing machine, I can check off one more thing for our super secrete awesome project. I love getting something done!!

Day 12 – July 18, 2014: On Friday evening we were at a rehearsal wedding dinner for some very good friends. Food was great, conversation was wonderful, weather was beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for a better night with friends, and I thought this beautiful metal flower in their backyard was a perfect happy day photo.

Day 13 – July 19, 2014: My husband was one of the groomsmen in the wedding party, so he was out the door bright and early (if you consider 10am early) for the day’s celebration. I must say, I think he looked rather fine, so made sure to grab a photo before he left for the day. And of course, the wedding and reception was pretty awesome too!  Weddings always make me happy.

Day 14 – July 20, 2014: Today was a lazy day at home, at least for me. I was still slightly hung-over at 7pm (I do remember a time when hangovers did not last all day….), so ordering pizza was the perfect solution for supper and definitely the most happy food imaginable in my slightly hung-over state.

  1. Love the pics. Especially the blue watering can. We’re having an extreme drought here in California and are on a statewide water ban. I miss being able to water and not worry about it. You should see my lawn. There are so many dry patches 😦

    • We try to avoid watering the grass unnecessarily simply because its not very green or sustainable. We would actually love to pull out all the grass in our front yard and put in natural xeroscaping to prevent watering all together.
On another note, I suspect your lawn probably looks like my backyard lawn, except mine has dry patches everywhere thanks to it being the dogs bathroom. She’s not allowed on our front lawn for that reason. 🙂

    • Haha, I’m not sure if that’s a rhetorical question or not, so I’ll just give you the short answer. 1. I’m not working, so I have time. 2. I’m pretty diligent about it, and usually write a few posts at a time and then schedule them to go up so I don’t have to remember to post every morning. 3. I like writing, so it doesn’t seem to be too hard to do. 🙂

And, thank you so much for such a wonderful compliment.
